Norfolk Sports and Cultural Foundation ‘Rising Stars’ and ‘Make It Happen’ schemes are now open for applications.  
 
The deadline for both schemes is 30 July. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted! 
 
Please read the guidance for the scheme you wish to apply to carefully before making your application.
 
All applicants must be aged 14 at the deadline date.

Grants from the Norfolk Sports & Cultural Foundation Fund are available to individuals through two schemes:
 
Rising Stars

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to young people aged 14-25 in Norfolk who can demonstrate that they excel in a sporting or cultural discipline. Funding available through this scheme aims to support recipients to develop their talents and fulfil their potential towards a professional career. Applicants are nominated by an expert in their chosen field who stands as referee for the recipient.

Nominations will be assessed against the following criteria:
 
Sport:
Your national ranking
Ranking of your sport (based on national funding and competitiveness to succeed)
Olympic/ Paralympic potential
 
Culture: 
Excellence and quality of work
Long-term benefit to the individual
Achievements to date
Drive and ambition
Originality
 
Make It Happen
 
Grants of up to £1,000 are available to individuals aged 14 upwards, to support Norfolk residents to realise their own personal sporting and cultural ambitions. Applicants complete an application form, which will need a supporting reference from an expert in their chosen discipline.

Applicants are expected to be able to provide evidence of their commitment to their sporting or artistic discipline, and demonstrate how a one-off grant will enable them to reach a personal goal that cannot be reached any other way.

Panel membership
 
All applications to both schemes will be assessed by a specialist panel with professional expertise in a range of cultural and sporting disciplines.

Please note that additional panel members may be co-opted after the deadline date if expertise in a particular discipline is required to properly assess a candidate. 
 
Lobbying of panel members, and other persons involved with delivering the fund, will result in disqualification. Lobbying can include persistent letters, phone calls or other communication promoting a candidate, either by the applicant themselves, a member of their family or other third party. 
 
How to apply
 
All applications should be made electronically wherever possible.   To do this, download the form you wish to complete, save a copy on your computer, then type in your details. Once complete, save, and attach to an email or load onto other media. Application/ nomination forms are provided in Microsoft Word format. Please ensure that that your form is returned as a Word file (.doc) or PDF document if you prefer. 
 
You may also print out the form and enter your details, then scan the pages to return by email or other media. Please ensure that your copies are clearly readable, and of good quality.
 
If you wish to send images to support your application, please ensure that they are in JPEG format and are appropriately sized. Please do not send very large files or file formats that require particular software to open ie. TIFs, EPS.
 
Please note: you are advised to submit your application in advance of the deadline to ensure that it can all be opened and viewed satisfactorily. Applications received that cannot be opened and read will not be accepted, and applicants will be asked to re-submit before the deadline date.
