West Norfolk Rural Community Capital Grants

Available Funding

There is a total of £225,000 available for capital grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 for investment in 2024/25. Match funding of 25% is required and must be confirmed at the time of application. Part of the match funding element (at least 10% of the total project cost) must come from cash, however an in-kind contribution can be considered for the remaining amount.

This is the second year of funding. Groups who were successful in year one are eligible to apply for new projects in year two.

Projects must be deliverable before the end of March 2025. Funding will not be provided for any works undertaken after this date.

Fund aim

• This Fund will support investment into the creation or improvement of infrastructure, i.e., buildings or equipment, which will enhance and strengthen community assets, facilities and local provision. Projects should consider their environmental impact, for example through the use of climate resilient infrastructure which can adapt to changing external factors, or the inclusion of net-zero infrastructure.
• Objective: to support communities to build upon their local offer through well-serviced facilities which meet specific local needs now and into the future. Projects should create, improve and futureproof community facilities, green spaces and communal infrastructure.
• Vision: social cohesion and local pride. Investment will be prioritised for projects which reduce carbon emissions, create resilient infrastructure, improve and create facilities that benefit the rural community and the wider environment, and increase opportunities for local groups to operate and further invest back into the area.
