Exclusions

Town and Parish Councils are not eligible to apply.

Organisations in receipt of a Service Level Agreement from the Borough Council are not eligible to apply for capital or revenue support from this Fund, even if your project is separate to your core business funded by the SLA.

Please note all successful applicants will be required to include the logo for the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk on all relevant materials and publicity, and include the words ‘supported by’.  You can download the logo using the link at the bottom of this page – if you need any other formats, or require any assistance to use the logo, please get in touch.  The Borough Council will need to approve any publicity relating to a grant from this fund.

Funding decisions are expected to be announced in March 2025.

You can only apply for either the Revenue or Capital stream. Applicants should not include a mix of revenue and capital costs in their application. For guidance on which stream to apply for, please see below.

Revenue Grants

Revenue grants are available up to a maximum of £2,500. Revenue grants can cover the direct delivery costs of a project, such as but not limited to:

  • Staff time proportionate to the project
  • Training or volunteer expenses
  • Venue hire
  • Refreshments
  • Materials or small items of equipment directly involved in the delivery of the project, with no one item costing more than £500, e.g. stationery, a laptop, or sports equipment. If your funding need is permanent change to a premises or a larger equipment cost, please consider a Capital grant instead.

Applications purely for staff salaries or organisation-wide core costs are unlikely to be supported. With your application, please submit relevant quotes for the funding you are requesting.

A total of £15,000 is available for grant making in the revenue stream.

Please note: Revenue grants are to be spent within 1 year of award. Organisations applying for revenue funding will only be eligible to apply for the same or similar activity for a maximum of 3 consecutive years. After this time, no further award will be made for a period of 2 years, unless it is for a completely new and unrelated project.

Capital Grants

Capital grants can cover up to 1/3 of the total cost of your project, up to a maximum grant of £10,000. Capital grants may support:

  • Building and refurbishment costs
  • Maintenance costs of a building or premises e.g. contracted work to make a repair
  • Larger pieces of equipment, including those required for maintenance e.g. a lawnmower

With your application, please submit three quotes for your capital project. The requested amount should be based on one of the three quotes provided. Your application will need to show clearly how the remainder of your costs will be raised. All capital projects need to adhere to the relevant Building Regulations and Planning Requirements.

A total of £50,000 is available for grant making in the capital stream.

Please note: Capital applications for £1,000 or less, may, at the discretion of the panel, be 100% funded without the need for match-funding. However the panel would normally expect the applicant to make a contribution.
