Norfolk Armed Forces Covenant 2025 Commemoration Fund

The Norfolk Armed Forces Covenant Board has created a fund to help communities across  Norfolk  commemorate the 80th anniversaries of VE and VJ Day in 2025.

The Norfolk Armed Forces Covenant Board is making £10,000 available to commemorate the 80th anniversaries of VE and VJ Day.
The Fund will support community projects through individual grants of up to a maximum award of £500.

What the Fund can support

The Fund will consider a wide range of projects specific to the commemoration of military events, which may include but are not exclusive to:

  • Community events and commemorations, including street parties;
  • Dance, drama and art projects;
  • Local military and social history research projects; and
  • Educational activities.

What the Fund cannot support

  • Travel arrangements including trips and visits;
  • War memorial repairs and refurbishments;
  • Refreshment and food costs for events and activities; or
  • Activities that do not directly commemorate one or more of the specific events detailed.

What else do I need to know?

This Fund is to allow applicants to commemorate the following:

  • VE Day – 80th anniversary
  • VJ Day – 80th anniversary.

Applications are particularly welcomed that evidence high levels of community engagement and involvement.

Grants must be spent within 12 months of being awarded.

Please note groups should only expect to receive one grant from this fund, but they can apply for up to £500 to put towards two events.

The Covenant Board will make funding decisions by 31 March 2025.
