“Without funding like Love Norfolk, we’re not able to make that difference, and the people we work with are the most forgotten. We’re able to show them that their lives are still valued and valid.”

Pippa May, Chief Executive of West Norfolk Befriending

“Without this I would have been staring at the same four walls, no interaction with others. It has really helped with my mental wellbeing. It’s great to see how much our craft group helps with people living on their own in a rural community.”

Vanessa, Harpley Community Craft Club

“Freedom Friday is my get out day. I love attending the group and meeting new people. I look forward to it all week and it has really helped with my depression.”

Christine, NR5 Community Hub

Did you know…

85% of charitable income in England and Wales goes to the top 4% of charities, leaving smaller charities underfunded, according to the Centre for Social Justice. Small and local charities continue to see a rise in demand as people face challenges from the cost-of-living crisis to the pandemic, and yet many of these groups have seen a loss in funding in recent years.

What’s the solution?

Norfolk’s charities are imaginative, creative, and ingenious when it comes to overcoming the problems their communities are facing. We believe things work best when led by community knowledge and experience. Through investing in community-led solutions, neighbourhoods are more vibrant, and individuals have more opportunities.

How are we helping?

We provide grassroots funding to ensure charities and community groups have the resources they need to help build stronger communities and create neighbourhood places to belong and thrive. Love Norfolk is collaborative, giving us a broad community insight that enables our funding to provide an injection of possibility where other funding opportunities can’t, supporting projects such as those that are:

  • Promoting wellbeing through physical activities.
  • Building connections and combatting loneliness and isolation.
  • Providing opportunities to engage with the creative arts.
  • Offering a safe and warm space to go for advice and support.
