Creativity Unbound offer marketing advice through Skills Exchange

In Norfolk, charities face challenges accessing the skills needed to grow and thrive due to limited resources. Investing in staff development is crucial, but often out of reach. To address this, we created Skills Exchange.

Skills Exchange connects Norfolk charities with the professional expertise available in local businesses, empowering them to complete essential projects, upskill teams, and overcome operational hurdles. This initiative provides charities with timely support while also helping businesses achieve their social impact goals. It’s a win-win, offering businesses valuable insights into Norfolk’s charity sector while allowing them to contribute meaningfully.

How can your business support the Skills Exchange?

Skills Transfer: Expertise for One-Off Projects

Provide professional skills whether it’s designing a new website, getting legal advice, or overcoming a financial challenge- Skills Transfer provides charities with the specialised skills they need to move the project across the line.

Skills Coach: Upskilling Charity Personnel

Many charities are stuck on the sidelines when it comes to investing in professional development due to tight budgets. Skills Coach will pair charity personnel with business professionals who provide hands-on support, helping charities to build their internal talent and improve overall performance.

Locker Room: Strategic Support for Big Challenges

In the world of sport, the locker room is the confidential space where strategies are fine-tuned, game plans are made, and tough calls are decided. The same goes for charities facing significant challenges or going through major transformations. The Locker Room will bring in high-level strategic advice from senior managers and leaders from local businesses. Just like a team huddling before a big game, charity leaders will collaborate with business professionals to tackle pressing issues like restructuring, strategic planning, or budget limitations. The goal is to break down these challenges, identify winning tactics, and set a game plan for success. Once the strategy is in place, additional support can be called in—like subs off the bench—from other parts of the Skills Exchange to help charities execute their plan.

Sponsor the Skills Exchange

We help juggle the right resources to help charities and businesses win big. Creating perfect parings between charities and businesses is a team effort, and by backing the Skills Exchange, you’re helping to build a stronger, more resilient Norfolk—one where local charities have the skills and expertise to tackle challenges head-on.

“Skills Exchange work is more community and people-focused, which I feel is very important work to do. Skills Exchange has introduced me to a range of clients who I would not normally have the pleasure of working with. It has also allowed me to work on projects within areas I would potentially not have encountered so early in my career which has helped broaden my exposure to commercial property matters and allowed me to develop my personal and legal skills.”

How it works

  1. A charitable organisation approaches the Skills Exchange with a request for help or guidance.
  2. We help them identify what help they might need.
  3. We conduct due diligence checks to ensure the charity meets our criteria.
  4. We pair them with a local business with the capacity to help, through Skills Transfer, Skills Coach or The Locker Room.
  5. We ensure your partnership gets off to a great start, we may be in touch to hear how it’s going but we’ll definitely be collecting feedback at the end of the process, helping to inform the social impact reporting we’ll provide you with.

Could you our your business be part of the Skills Exchange? Could you…

  • Provide one-off advice for a specific project?
  • Coach or mentor charity personnel in similar roles with skills from your team?
  • Offer strategic knowledge alongside other businesses to help charities make big changes?

  • Skills Coach – mentoring for charities from business specialists.
  • The Locker Room – strategic guidance from a panel of business experts for organisations undergoing big changes or facing big challenges.
